Senate Document #6 APC Document #5 The Academic Policies Committee recommends to the Faculty Senate the adoption of the following catalog changes: Delete: Biology 337, Cell Physiology Add: Biology 411, Biochemistry Laboratory (Chem 411) (1 hr) Practice in standard current methods in biochemistry. Techniques include isolation methods, identification and characterization, enzyme kinetics, radioisotopes and other procedures, experienced through a series of open-ended experiments. Prerequisites: Chemistry 231, 221. Rationale: Student demand warrants offering Biological Biochemistry every year rather than alternating with the Cell Physiology. Faculty load requires that the Cell Physiology be deleted as a consequence; student demand seconds this. Laboratory experience in this area is still necessary so the addition must be made. (Passed by Faculty Senate January 31, 1978.)
