APC Document 56: Reinstate CSCI 142, Computer Programming I (FORTRAN)

Effective date: Fall 2007

142 Computer Programming I (FORTRAN) (3)

Computer programming using FORTRAN. Programming examples illustrating engineering, scientific and commercial applications. Prerequisite: Math 167 or equivalent. See department chair.

Impact:

The plan is to offer this course in the Spring of most semesters. The course was offered in Spring 2006 as CSCI 142 and is being taught in Spring 2007 as a special topics offering.

Rationale:

This course is listed in the major requirements of the major in Atmospheric Science as an alternative to CSCI 201. It was sunsetted after the 2004-2005 academic year, and shouldn't have been. We are requesting that the course be reinstated.
