APC Document 26: Prerequisite
Changes to PHYS 221 and PHYS 222
Effective Date: Fall 2007
1. Delete: On pg. 213, in the course
description for PHYS 221:
Prerequisite: MATH 191;
corequisite: MATH 192. Fall and Spring.
Add:
On pg. 213, in place of
deleted entry:
Prerequisite: MATH 191; pre- or corequisite: MATH 192. Fall and
Spring.
Impact: No impact on the staffing
or resources of the Physics Department.
Rationale: There has been a recurring problem
during registration with students not being able to register for PHYS 221
without also registering for MATH 192 since MATH 192 is listed as a
corequisite. Students are unable to register for PHYS 221 without having an
override for the corequisite, even if MATH 192 has already been completed. This
is an inconvenience for the student.
Therefore, we are changing the MATH 192 corequisite for PHYS 221 to a
pre- or corequisite.
2. Delete: On pg 213, in the course description for PHYS 222:
Prerequisite: PHYS 221; corequisite: MATH 291. Fall and Spring.
Add: On pg 213, in place of deleted entry:
Prerequisite: PHYS 221; pre- or corequisite: MATH 291. Fall and
Spring.
