Impact:

No impact on the staffing or the resources of the Education Department.  Students will have a choice between PSYC 101 and 102, so enrollments could be evened out between the two courses.

   Rationale:

The Education department routinely accepts PSYC 102 as a substitute for the PSYC 101

requirement. The topics in PSYC 101 and 102 apply equally to licensure standards. In addition, transfer students often receive credit for General Psychology, which is equated to PSYC 102. Officially adding the option of PSYC 101 or 102 to the catalog will eliminate the need for students to request waivers and substitutions.
