Statement of Faculty Senate Action:

APC Document 23: Addition of SPAN 481 to required list of courses for major

Effective Date: Fall 2005

1. Delete: On pg. 212, under major in Spanish, section I.

Add: On pg. 212, in place of deleted entry:

I. Required courses in the major – 27 hours including SPAN 300, 310, 320, 330,

332; 481 or 482; 3 additional hours at 300-400 level; 6 additional hours at the 400 level.

Impact: This change should have no impact on requirements, as the course is already offered yearly.

Rationale: It is important for majors to do advanced study in literature; it does not matter whether it is peninsular or Spanish-American.
