Statement of Faculty Senate Action:

APC Document 46:      Changes in Drama Declaration and Prerequisites

Effective Date: Fall 2003

1. Delete: on page 90 under Declaration of Major in Drama:

In addition to the above course requirements, students must satisfactorily complete production responsibilities for three Theatre UNCA productions.

Add:

In addition to the above course requirements, students must satisfactorily complete production responsibilities for two Theatre UNCA productions.

Impact Statement
No impact on department or resources.

Rationale:
In an attempt to get students to declare at the end of their freshman year, this reduces the work load expected by a non-declared student. This will allow students more time to experience other activities outside of the theatre department their first year.

2. Delete: on page 92 under DRAM 244 History of Theatre I The line

(Students who have had DRAM 241 may not take this course for credit.)

3. Delete: On page 92 under DRAM 245 History of Theatre II, the line

(Students who have had DRAM 241-242 may not take this course for credit.)

Add:
nothing

Impact Statement
:
No impact on department or resources.

Rationale:
These statements were left over from a transition from a different History series many years ago. No students should remain from that transition period and the phrase is now irrelevant.
