MCOM 201 from 4 hours to 3 hours
Reduce
required hours for MCOM major and minor

Delete: On page 207, the title and credit hours to MCOM 201:

Impact:
Change keeps course consistent with other
MCOM courses, and makes articulation possible with community colleges. Reducing
the credit hours for this and other MCOM courses will give students more
schedule flexibility and will provide the opportunity to take more course
topics. The impact of the credit hour change is that students will be required
to complete one less credit for the major and for faculty,
the laboratory/classroom components will need reorganization.
Rationale:
This
change was agreed upon by department during curricular review last year, but
omitted from APC document of October 2010.

page 206, under Mass Communication Major
Requirements:
The
Mass Communication major requires 41 hours in MCOM and VMP courses, distributed
as follows:
