to allow students to double major in Anthropology and Sociology
Effective Date: Fall 2011

Add: On page 259,
under Major in Sociology, after item
III.:
Students majoring in Sociology, who also want to major in
Anthropology, must complete 24 hours of Anthropology courses that are not
used to complete requirements for the major in Sociology.

under Sociology with Teacher Licensure,
after item III.:
Students majoring in Sociology, who also want to major in
Anthropology, must complete 24 hours of Anthropology courses that are not
used to complete requirements for the major in Sociology.

Students majoring in Anthropology, who also want to major in
Sociology, must complete 24 hours of Sociology courses that are not used
to complete requirements for the major in Anthropology.

Rationale
This allows students to have the ability of double
majoring in Anthropology and Sociology with a breadth of classes from each
discipline.
Impact Statement:
This change will have no impact
on curriculum or staffing issues. Class
size might increase by a small percentage, but should not pose any problems to
current department class size.
