Statement of Faculty Senate Action:

APC Document 19:                          Change the grading on EDUC 211 to Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory

Effective Date:    Fall 2011

1.            Add:      On page 124, to the course description for EDUC 211, before “Fall and Spring”:

                                                (Grading is S/U).

Impact:

This change will have no impact on departmental or university resources. Students will now take the course on a pass/fail basis.

Rationale:

EDUC 211 – Instructional Technology for Educational Settings, K-12 is a course that is based on competencies. Candidates must complete the course successfully to get credit for it. Students do not receive grades based on the quality of the work, so the grading system for the course should be based on completion of each assignment to the specific standard required for competency.
