Effective Date:   Fall 2011

 

 

1.    Delete:                         On page 33, in Advanced Placement section, under Computer Science:

2.    Delete:         On page 34, in International Baccalaureate section, for Computing Studies:

Impact: 

Students will receive credit for CSCI 181 instead of the deleted 201.

 

Rationale: 

Most AP and IB courses will be closer to CSCI 181 than CSCI 182.

 

 

 

3.    Delete:         On page 80, under the Concentrations in Climatology and Weather Forecasting, in item I:

 

                                                CSCI 201 may be substituted for ATMS 230.

 

        Add:              On page 80, in place of deleted entry:

 

                                                CSCI 181 may be substituted for ATMS 230.

 

 

Impact: 

None

 

Rationale: 

ATMS students should take the more numerically-oriented replacement for CSCI 201.

 

 

 

4.    Delete:         On page 127, under Two-Plus-Two Engineering Program:

                                                CSCI 181               Introductory Programming for Numeric Applications      

 

Impact: 

None.

 

Rationale: 

CSCI 181 is appropriate for transfer into an Engineering program.

 

 

 

5.    Delete:         On pages 212 and 213, under the Pure (Theoretical) Mathematics, Applied Mathematics,

                        Statistics, and Mathematics with Teacher Licensure concentrations, in item II:

        Rationale: 

        MATH students should take the more numerically-oriented replacement for CSCI 201.
