Statement of Faculty Senate Action:

 

APC Document  46:                              Change credit hours for MCOM 301 and 311;

                                                            Change credit hours and descriptions for VMP 303 and 305;

                                                            Change description for VMP 307

 

Effective Date:  Fall 2008

 

1a.        Delete:  On pg. 187, the title and credit hours for MCOM 301:

                       

                  Newspaper Workshop (1)

 

            Add:     On pg. 187, in place of deleted entry:

 

                                    Newspaper Workshop (2)

 

 

1b.       Delete:  On pg. 187 the title and credit hours for MCOM 311:

 

                  Newspaper Workshop II (1)

 

            Add:     On pg. 187, in place of deleted entry:

Impact: These changes will have no impact on other programs. No new resources will be required.

 

Rationale: These courses demand enough student time to warrant two hours of credit. Actual contact hours average well more than two.

Video Workshop (1)

Use of small-format video production equipment to complete a variety of production assignments. Prerequisite: VMP 209; or permission of instructor. Spring.

 

      Add:     On pg. 190, in place of deleted entry:

Use of small-format digital video production equipment to achieve competence in camera, lighting and editing skills. Prerequisite: VMP 207, 209; or permission of instructor. Fall and Spring.

Continuation of VMP 303. Use of small-format video production equipment to complete a variety of production assignments. Prerequisite: VMP 303; or permission of instructor.  Spring.
